A Moving Update

Time is ticking away faster and faster and I feel like it's time to give everyone a little update on this 'repatriation situation' we got going on. Well, I've hinted around it a little bit and let it slip a few times but to make it official, we are moving to.....

Well, the Marietta area to be more exact! We are getting more and more excited and while we were a little bummed about not having another two years 'abroad', we are excited about settling down for a few years. Flights are booked, we are still working on the movers and we are counting the days until we see our sweet pups in Florida. We still have a WHOLE lotta work to do...like for instance, I need a job! And you know, the whole 'buy new cars and find a place to live' ordeal. No biggie. Stressing just a tad.

But. It's going to be like coming home for us. Van and I lived north of Atlanta in our first year of our relationship, so we know the area fairly well. We have family all around the area and others within a half a day's drive. Since we have lived all over the place for the past 10 years, we honestly don't even know what it is like to be able to just drive up the road to celebrate Christmas with the family! It is definitely going to be a welcome change but one that will take some getting used to for sure! Also, Van's employer is based in Marietta and it will be nice for him to finally settle into office life and travel only occasionally.

As for me, I have no idea where I am going to work so I am going to be taking a gamble on my commute times, ugh. That is one thing that I am NOT looking forward to....Atlanta traffic!! But, as with all things, I will get used to it. Who am I kidding? I have to get used to driving in general!!

And with the move comes a new blog redo! I am getting very close to completing all of the finishing touches and will be releasing it shortly, but just to give you a hint....it's still going to be about travel but with a little health and wellness added in. New name, new logo, new look! I'm excited! It has been fun to create my own little look. I don't know why I haven't gotten into a little more design before! Anyway, the wellness side is now coming into play as I dig into a new career path in Dietetics! (yes, I am back in school eeek!! but more on that later...I promise)

I appreciate you all sticking with my little web space and hope you enjoy the changes to come!

  19. I have some friends that just made the move from the states to Europe, and I remember all of the stress and craziness that they went through. At least you know that you'll be home and near your family soon enough!
