The Perfect Date Night

Spring is FINALLY upon us here in England. It has seriously taken forever, am I right?? Looking back at posts at this time last year, it was sooo much warmer! But as much as I have complained about it's shyness, I can't complain about the extra nights spent cozied up on the couch. Van and I are major couch potatoes in our free time. And soon those little date nights will be spent trying to stay cool instead of cozy!

To get us through some of our couch bound date nights, Jacamo sent us a super fun hamper (gift basket) to help Van plan the perfect date night in. As Jacamo is a men's store, helping guys dress their best and get off on the right foot, they also wanted to help Van do the same! Needless to say, our 10 year anniversary is coming up so obviously getting off on the right foot was some time ago for Van hehehe. But man, with a little help, the boy can plan an awesome date night! So indulge me while I brag on my man for a little bit....

I was told to just 'be hungry' before our date night began and seeing as though I was hungry well before dinner was ready, Van promptly served up an appetiser for me with a glass of wine. Flexible and attentive! After, the appetiser was over, a bubble bath was prepared (and another glass of wine) and I was told to relax while the rest of dinner was being prepared. As the cook of the house, this was amazing. Not a thing to worry about or prepare. Just sit in my bubbles and read a little. But to my surprise, that wasn't all. After Van got his supper going, he came upstairs to give me a back rub while I soaked. Spa bliss!

We had a lovely dinner followed by my choice of movie. And I chose The Imitation Game during which I was served a chocolate fondant and champagne! What?! I couldn't stop smiling.

Good job Van.

So now that you have seen a glimpse into our date night, what is your favorite thing to do for Date Night?

And thank you Jacamo for giving us a lovely date night. Van now remembers what it's like to plan a date :)

  1. That sounds like the perfect date night! I'm so jealous that you have a bath tub. It's only showers at our place.
