10Ks, Blogger Fails, and a little bit of Life

Hello friends! So the blog has taken a bit of a back seat as of late! Here is an attempt at an explanation :)

My First 10k

Sooooo, I ran a 10k yesterday!! I set a goal for myself and I accomplished it. Don't you love it when that happens? Ahh, sweet success! It was my first 10k ever and it was a bit intimidating but turned out to be an amazing day. And I'm writing all about it today on my fitness blog, Fit for Life. So hop on over and read all the deets.

Blogger Fails

Yep, hit that nail on the head this past weekend when I automatically posted a drafted blog post. Haven't done that in about a year! So sorry for that. I'm pressing 'revert to draft' on everything. Truth is, I've really been focusing on a lot of other things lately. Por ejemplo...
1.) I'm currently looking into starting some classes this summer (all chemistry bleh) in hopes of being able to apply for a Dietetics program next summer. Not another degree but just a DPD course plan, I love Psychology but I also love health and food and helping others understand nutrition. So, anyway...that's taking some brain power away from the blog.
2.) I've obviously been running and exercising a lot.
3.) I've been spending a lot of time outdoors. Spring is really starting to show it's face here and I want to soak up every little beautiful moment that I have left in England!

Puppy Countdown

The puppies are leaving soon. Yes, I still call them my puppies and they are both 6. Oh, I am going to miss them like crazy! They both must be shipped home before the temps get too high, as they are both brachycephalic (snub nosed). While they will be getting spoiled with their grandma CiCi, I will be missing their sweet wiggles in the mornings. I have been getting all of their flights and things squared away and it's taking some time. They have got about a month left in England and then they will make their journey back to the States. Sad face.

So there's my exlpanation :)

Is your Spring getting hectic?

  1. Congrats on your first 10k! :) I totally agree-it is much harder to blog when it's beautiful outside!

  2. Congrats on your first 10k! Now a half! When you move back to the state look for Nike half! One in San Fran. Or one in D.C. Your finishers medal is a Tiffany necklace. It makes training a lot easier when you know that is at the end.

  3. Good on you Jamie!! Well done.

On the doggies, I think I would probably have a panic attack if I ever had to ship my beloved fur baby. I've always been really curious about the process. What kind of conditions do they fly in? Are they sedated?

    Enjoy the weather!

  5. Congrats on the 10k gal! And this course sounds really interesting, while not the chemistry but the Dietetics program.

  6. I agree 100%! safe travels to the pups too! Stuart's flight home ended up being a breeze compared to his one here, I guess he learned from the first?

  7. Thanks! Nowhere near a marathon but maybe I'll get there one day :) And yes, when I was in school, I originally was studying Nutrition but there were no Dietetic programs in our area and I knew it would be silly to start one even if there was one because of our gypsy life! So, now that we are settling down, I'm gonna pursue becoming an RD!!

  8. Oh that's so good to hear! Mine are in for a surprise when they land in the Texas heat (that's where they will be staying till we get home) My boxer HATES his crate so its always a heartbreaking moment but I know he will be spoiled to death by my mom once he arrives :)

  9. Thanks lady! Yes, moving the animals is a stressful part of our lives! My boxer hates his crate so its a heartbraking moment for sure. Since Lufthansa is the only airline that will fly English Bulldogs, mine must fly in lower temps and they have to actually fly to Frankfurt first and stay the night and then onto the States. Europe in general has an amazing system and facilities for transporting animals....not so much in the States. And no, they can't be sedated. It just wouldn't be safe if there was an emergency with medication! I need to do a post on it!!

  20. Aaaah, I've DEFINITELY hit publish or schedule on a draft post before without realizing it. Explains why when I clicked on a post title of yours in bloglovin, I got a dead link. xx Haha

Congratulations on the 10K that's amazing!! <3 And I'm so so sorry about your adorable puppies. Sorry if I've missed it, but does it mean that they'll be waiting for you when you move back, or is this the end? xxx
