Prague Round Two

Oh man. We are still in love with Prague. Our second visit to our favorite Praha was a good one again and we had the added surprise of a little less tourists! Yay! And after this visit, I've decided that I will eventually put together a little Prague guide based on a wide range of budgets seeing as though we have hit all aspects of Prague. But for this little post, I'll just give you a little roundup of what we did the second time round.

First off, we stayed at an amazing little hotel, The Emblem Hotel. Directly off the town square, and not to mention it's 5 star status, it was pretty much perfect. We arrived early on a Friday and were welcomed with warm hospitality at the Emblem. And after an early 3:30AM wakeup call, a rest was needed in this perfect little bed.

After resting for a brief minute, we headed to our favorite...Sansho. We visited and learned about Sansho our last time in Prague when we took the Taste of Prague tour. And it was heavenly the second time around. Don't you just love that? We feasted on several starters and had to have seconds of the Asian Pork Belly, which actually wasn't even on the menu anymore but they obliged and served it up to us. We also had Soft Shell Crab Sliders and Spicy Pork Tacos. All. Divine.

Afterwards, I was in need of my favorite dark beer from the best place to get it in Prague. Lokal. Just as good and cheap as we remembered. And then it was nap time back in our cozy and soothing room before our 'blate night'!

Yep, we met up for a 'blate' (blog date) with Amy and E from Amy and the Great World, who I am insanely jealous of by the way. Oh to live in Prague! We certainly had blast starting off at the Prague Beer Museum, which was an excellent choice (thank you Amy) and we had missed out on it the previous visit, so we were happy to go. They had amazing beers and so inexpensive. I just cannot get over Prague prices....but that's what England will do to you!

Afterwards, we meandered down to Mama Lucy's which none of us had been to and it also turned out to be a decent choice! We ate, drank, laughed and had just a super fun night. Van even ordered his drink lit on fire. Thank you blog world for bringing us all together for a fun night out!!

The next day two days were spent wandering around and just taking in Prague slowly. We hadn't a single thing on the agenda and it was awesome. Just soaking in the city.

We finally made it by some interesting artwork that we had missed previously....

And ended with a sweet trip to Cafe Savoy, another favorite.

So stay tuned for an upcoming Prague guide including 3 different budget categories to suit your travel style! And for previous posts (which have plenty more detail) check these out:

Praha, we love you!

Linking up for Travel Tuesday :)

Now, if I could just work off all that delicious Praha food! If you are interested in following along with my journey to a leaner and meaner me, head on over to Fit For Life and join the fun!

  2. I love agenda-less trips! They really let you soak up a city. Awesome pictures... looks like a really fun vacation! Will have to keep that hotel in mind for when I make it back to Prague.

  4. I get kind of nervous when I think about revisiting some of my favourite cities. I'm always worried it won't be the same and I'll be disappointed. Glad you had a great second visit to Prague though! Love those trips where you haven't got a plan.

  6. That art piece is... interesting? ha Love all your pictures, Prague is such a gorgeous city! I wish we have enough time to make a stop there in the spring but maybe this fall! :)

  7. How fun! I missed going to the Prague Beer Museum last time I was there - looks great! Isn't it incredible to see the prices when you move further east in Europe? Especially for you coming from England. Coming from Paris it's a shock to see reasonable prices exist out there!

  8. Lokal and Savoy are definitely on my list for June. Did you use the tram on either of your trips or did you just hoof it? Excited to see your guides!

  9. I was too!! I was thinking, maybe the first time around was a fluke or something. But nope, we were just as happy the second time around!

  13. I seriously just can't get over $1.50 pints...and of delicious beer!! The Prague Beer Museum isn't really a museum but their menu changes quite often and you can order a flight of 5 beers to sample for around $5...amazing! You're looking at $15 easy at a place like BrewDog in england!!

  14. We only took the tram when we were on our food tour and really I think that was only so we could save about 15 minutes! We took the metro before to get down to Vsyherad but that was it for us and public transport in Prague! It's so easy to walk and you want to walk because all of the streets are windy and just magical in some places! I love Prague and I hope the guide will help you!! Yay for your visit!! And yes to both Lokal and Cafe Savoy!!

  17. I feel like half the fun is the wandering! (And while I appreciate a good transit system, sometimes I just don't want to figure them out!) And if we get tired, stop for a beer and take a break, haha.

  36. That's what's nice about visiting a city for the second time. You've probably already seen the major sites, so you can relax a little and actually have a vacation versus a trip! We're yet to return to somewhere we've been before, but we're hoping to return to Amsterdam early next year (that's our favorite!) and since we've already done the big stuff, it will be easy to just spend most of our time eating and walking around!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oh I loved Amsterdam too :) I would gladly return there as well. I think the cities are a lot alike....its just that Prague is a lot cheaper!! It was so nice to just relax, not worry about what restaurants and landmarks we needed to visit! I hope you get to experience the same!!
