A Touristy Day in London

While my Mom was in town visiting, we headed to London to have a day full of being tourists. You may have seen some of our "Day of Selfies" on my Instagram account! We had a blast just wandering around the city and taking in the landmarks. One place that I am kicking myself for not snapping shots was at Borough Market. But wow, too many yummy sights and smells to be worried about a camera there! Nevertheless, here are some snaps from our day as tourists in London.

Parliament | Westminster Abbey | St. Paul's Cathedral | Tower Bridge | The Shard | Tower of London

Oh, London.....steal my heart why don't you?

  1. Excellent photos. As It was your mom's first trip outside the United States, will you be sharing her impressions of her trip at a later date. No doubt there was a degree of culture shock!

  2. You certainly had a beautiful day for this! My parents are coming in April and joining us on a trip to Scotland, but before we leave, they'll have a couple of days here in London. I had planned something similar where we just pop around from sight to sight for the day, just to make sure they get to see it all!

  4. I love that Churchill statue. Every other statue is all regal, and people are like, on horses looking all majestic and he's like "don't mind me, strolling around in my coat looking like a normal human". Love it!

  5. I probably won't post on that but she absolutely loved England! She did however have a little bit of anxiety driving on the other side of the road. And travelling by foot everywhere took some getting used to :)

  6. Thank you for the response Jamie. So long as she enjoyed the experience is the main thing, unfortunately this time of year does not show the UK at it's best.

  7. We really did....I couldn't believe the blue skies when we finally made it down to London. It did end up dreary but it didn't rain once!! And we totally got our moneys worth on the tube that day....just popping along from landmark to landmark :)

  8. London could take years to see! My mom and I just hopped the tube from one landmark to the next and while we didn't really see the interiors of any of the places, we had decent enough weather just to stroll leisurely! London is too expensive to stay more than a couple of nights anyway....

  9. Oh I hope so! I told my husband all about it and he was super jealous....so a trip back down to the market is a must!

  10. Haha right? Churchill was a pretty cool cat, or bulldog I should say :) Oddly enough, my mom and I took the exact route that Churchill's funeral procession took through London. I didn't know it until a saw a documentary on it that night...how weird!

  12. I love London. I am so sad my parents are moving back to the states this summer so we don't have an excuse to go once a year. I want to go back already (well maybe when it warms up)!

  13. I've seen these lovely sights so many times but they NEVER get old. I could look at them a million more times. I love seeing these sights through other people's perspectives too. Lovely photos. Making me want to go back!

  15. You are right! They never get old. I told my mom on the way down how she was just going to be filled with joy once we rounded the corner to see big ben! And when she say it she was just speechless :) I never get tired of seeing them either!

  17. I'm glad you and your mom had fun, and that you made the call to just enjoy Borough Market without your camera! You deserve to just enjoy your surroundings (though the pics you did take are lovely!) :)
