30+ | The Best Birthday Ever!!

Yikes....I'm now in the 30+ category. How did I get this old?? It comes every year right? Your birthday. This year I will be "in my thirties". 31, I've decided, is a really boring number for a birthday and I may just continue to say I'm 30!!

But can I just say, I have THE most amazing friends in the world (for which I am using initials). I had the absolute best birthday party ever Friday night. I was expecting the normal birthday party with my amazing group of friends, which was perfectly fine for me....drinks at J's house, walk to our favorite restaurant, Le Spice, and then back to J's for cake and wine. As it was a shared birthday party with my sweet friend C, I was excited about our night. Well, they sure surprised C and I!!

When I arrived with the cake (because I love making cakes), the girls were no where to be found! But we were given our first clue. We headed to our first destination, Ta Bouche, to find E and A with balloons and a gift bag to be used to collect gifts at every location. We had a drink, were given another clue and headed off to our next destination, Kings Arms. There we were met with our next gift and our smiling sweet friends, J and D!

Ps. What's a mogita? LOL

Then on to The Fountain, where we met back up with E and A. And then off to The Royal Standard where we all met back up. And after a yummy, girly shot, we headed out to dinner. Both C and I were just completely shocked and surprised by how the night turned out.

Dinner was a blast as usual but I was totally shocked by our next surprise. I mentioned after dinner that I hoped the cake was still standing when we made back over to J's And not a minute later, here come the waiters with our cake and candles lit on top!! How did they pull this off! Well after this moment there was no holding back my tears any longer. I felt so special and it was such a fun, amazing night. These girls outdid themselves and I just love them to death for it! I will always hold this night's memories in my heart forever. Pure joy!

Knife selfie...

But that isn't even the end of my birthday. Saturday night, we had a fun laid back night at the house with my friends and amazing dog sitters, Jacob Catherine and Luke. And then E and her hubby and Van's friend from work came over and we laughed the night away while playing cards and board games. Another perfect night!

And then today, my actual birthday. I was a good girl and waited for today to open my gift from Van. Although I really wanted a kitten (haha), he outdid himself as well. A perfect colored and sized Michael Kors purse, perfect for travelling and a spa day at the fancy Spa Ely! It's all set up for the day before we leave for Paris....another part of my birthday! Can you say special?!?!? I feel so loved!

And another big thank you to all the phone calls, texts, and instagram messages wishing me a happy birthday. I even got a reply from Tania (my fave from T25) who shares my birthday, wishing me a happy day! Last year, my birthday was not a very happy one and now this weekend just takes that all away! I just am blown away by the love shown to me and I just can't say thank you enough! Lots of warm fuzzies going on right now :)

Here's to 30+

  10. It was the best weekend ever! And yep, I made the cake! I kinda discovered I had a knack for it about 5 years ago and actually ran a little business from my house while I finished my degree! I have been on a 2 year break though and I'm thinking it might be time to get back into it!
