Santorini, Greece is quite possibly the most beautiful place I have ever been. The sunsets, the beaches, the views...I now know why it is on every one's bucket list!
We arrived in Santorini on a Wednesday evening just in time for the sunset. We arrived in port after a 2.5 hour high speed ferry ride from Mykonos and we were somewhat scammed into taking a shared taxi to our hotel. Of course, we were the last to be taken to our hotel and we had to walk a good ways from where the driver dropped us. But I kept a smile on my face the whole time. I knew what views were awaiting my viewing pleasure!
One of the staff from our hotel, Bill (his English name), met us in the main square of Fira to help us carry our bags down the many stairs to the lobby. He was seriously the nicest guy ever. He warmly welcomed us, poured us a little (read large) glass of red and went over the main parts of the island before sending us off to watch the sunset.
I seriously could not get rid of my chill bumps watching the sun set. It was more beautiful than I ever could have dreamed. Beautiful music lingered in the air and everyone was gathered to their balconies to watch the gorgeous event. And everyone clapped and sighed once it dropped beneath the horizon.
The photos below are from our time in Santorini starting from when we arrived, minus the beach photos and pics from my phone (which are coming soon). But let the photos tell you our story from Santorini. Placed in chronological order, you can experience Santorini and the beautiful sunsets just as we did.
Santorini, we will be back!
