Playing on the Scottish Coast- Glen Golf Club

Scotland is the birth place of golf. While it is thought that ancient Romans also played a game similar to golf, the modern day game of golf that we now play originated circa 1457. Originally, we had planned on visiting the Old Course at St. Andrews, which originated in 1574, but were unable to make it this trip. We did however find a fantastic course to play.

Located in North Berwick and about 3 miles down the road from Tantallon Castle, Glen Golf Course sits perched upon the North Sea cliffs. Established in 1906, this course offers the full Scottish golf experience. We knew that we would enjoy this course but at the end of the day it became clear that this was the best golf experience we have had so far.

Van played amazingly. I played terribly. But this did not put a damper on my day! The views were absolutely incredible and knowing that you are just a short drive away from where the game began.....it was pretty cool. The course was challenging and actually really fun. And of course the views were incredible and couple that with the ever changing Scottish sky and it makes for a very enjoyable day. We did get rained on but I am pleased with the rain because it gave me some amazing skies to take photos of.

Best course so far? I think so.

  3. You know what? I only used picmonkey for these.....I knew I didn't need to edit them very much and picmonkey saved me some time :) The colors were so incredible that day!! I couldn't believe how clear the water looked at some points throughout the day.
