My Travel Bucket List

Pinterest fuels my everyday wanderlust with gorgeous photos of places that I can only dream about. We all know that sometimes these pins can be over photoshopped and distorted to look more magical than they really are. And this is why I am thankful that I blog and read blogs.....so I can get the real scoop on some of these fantasy places.

Today I am linking up for #TravelTuesday and talking about my travel bucket list! These are places that I will make it to eventually in this lifetime. I am happy to say that one "bucket list" item, or items, a couple of Greek Isles, is in the works for the end of August :) YAY! One bucket list item down. And of course we have already been able to mark several items off of the bucket list like skiing the French Alps, playing a a round in the birthplace of golf, sipping sangria on the Spanish coast and of course, castles GALORE!

I think the British Summer has my brain in a kind of travel lull. I think my American brain has slowly begun to melt with the lack of air conditioning. But at least my brain held it together long enough to come up with a list. My list is just a list of places. Some people may have bucket list 'actions' but I just have places. Places that make my heart flutter when I see them and I know, I HAVE to get there one day!!

1. New Zealand

Ok, NZ is not only a bucket list item but I place that I would so love to call home. It just looks incredible. The home of Lord of the Rings, the variety of scenery, the lushness, it's just plain gorgeous. And that's all I need to know.

2. Cappadocia, Turkey

Cappadocia looks like an absolute photographers dream! I dream about conquering my fears and hopping in a hot air balloon and flying over this landscape. Amazing.

3. Austria

Sound of Music, gorgeous mountain views, hiking, history, all good stuff my friends. Just check out this gorgeous scenery from the fabulous blog of Margo at GutenBlog Yall. Just incredible really.

4. Croatia

Most people don't realize that Croatia has some of the most amazing beaches. Oh, and a little show called Game of Thrones has many a scenes filmed here. We were planning on going here this year, but Greece won out! Next time!!!

5. Phuket

And finally ending with yet another beach location :) Can you tell I love the water?!?! Always have, always will! Crystal waters put my mind at ease wherever, whenever.

  1. I only learned about Cappadocia on a blog too and find it a fascinating place! Also I guess I need to watch the Sound of Music as this is the second time I hear of it today in relation to Austria. Curious to see what it's like! ;)

  4. New Zealand is magic on earth. Why else would Lord of the Rings be filmed there?! ;) Croatia has never been on my radar until recently after seeing pictures from a friend's visit. Looks amazing!

  7. Love your list; we share similar travel tastes! Phuket was fab but we liked exploring the other islands around it. The interior of Croatia was pretty great, too. Looks like you've already had some enviable adventures!

  20. Love your bucket list--mine has many of the same places on it. I really, really want to go to Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, and India, but who knows when I'll actually be able to get there. Traveling with a 14-month-old is not super fun, so I'll have to wait to share those memories with her in a few years!

  21. New Zealand is definitely worth putting on that list and one day we're hoping to move there. My husband's a kiwi so I lucked out there. Croatia is amazing! In terms of Phuket though, there are much more beautiful beaches in Thailand which are less overrun with tourists. Koh Tao has some of my favourite beaches but I'd also love to visit Ko Phi Phi when I go back one day. Just my opinion. It's a great list though and yeah, my pinterest boards are all a whimsical sun drenched dream boards too.

  22. Austria is my favourite place in Europe, I would love to live there, except I don't speak German very well. For now my short-term bucket list is Korea, Switzerland, Norway and Sweden. Should get most of them done this year:-)
