Hitchin Lavender Fields

Last week, some friends and I headed out to Hitchin to take a gander at their lavender fields. We expected rolling fields of lavender for as far as the eye could see. But when we pulled up, we realized our expectations were way far off! Thank you Pinterest for making us believe otherwise! I thought it would be the most spectacular place to take photographs....and I did get a few good ones. But definitely a little less than expected.

We paid for our admission and were handed a brown bag and scissors to cut as much lavender as we could fit into the bag! Seemed like a pretty sweet deal to me. So we headed out to the fields, filled with bees and cut to our hearts content.

It really ended up being a perfect little day outing in England, especially for a group of girls. I ended up with a ton of lavender and the smell of the fields was just incredible. Couple that with a nice countryside lunch in an English barn and you have one heck of a nice day :)

I brought my lavender home and hung some up to dry. For what? I haven't figured that out yet! I have been scouring Pinterest for everything lavender and have been finding some really neat little ideas!

What do recommend I do with all of this lavender???
