Lately....

Happy Monday everyone! Nothing much happening in the Gunter Household lately....just catching up on lost time since Van has been away with work. Here's a little recap over the past week or so.....

Van returned from his high-risk location work trip, in one piece thank God. He is looking thin and I am incredibly jealous of his summer tan, but he assures me it was no vacation. When he returned to work a few days after coming home he received an award and I happened to be there to see it! He was nominated by his Air Force squadron as 'Contractor of the Quarter'. He would never brag about any of this.....so I do it for him :) He is kicking butt at work and I am so proud of him!
For the Mommas :)
The weather is absolutely amazing right now. It's funny because 60 degrees actually feels a little too warm. My skin doesn't know what to think! I'm considering throwing on a bikini and laying out in the garden. Too soon? I don't think so! These past few months of gray skies make me want to soak up as much sun as I can. My garden is also starting to bloom with gorgeous little flowers.....I'm hoping I can keep the pretty little plants alive. I have a black thumb however, so wish me luck on this one!

Since Van is still recovering a bit from the work trip, we have been hanging out around the house...no major trips in the works for a few weeks. But, that gives us some time to work on our golf swings! We have a driving range and little 9 hole course about 1/4 mile from our house, so we have been taking advantage of that. It feels amazing to be playing golf where the game was born (actually Scotland, but still UK, you get what I'm saying).

We finally purchased some furniture to complete the living room. It feels more like home now. Moving every 2 years really keeps us from holding on to pieces that are valuable and luckily we have Ikea to help find cheaper items to fill a room with! Of course, our sofa is our pride and joy and we absolutely search for houses to rent based on whether the sofa will fit. But anyway, more homey now....and that's always good. Eventually, I'll post a home tour....

The puppies are just loving the weather. I have seen them lay out and sunbathe on the ground for the first time since we have been in England! It makes my heart smile. Also, the conservatory has become the place where large bumblebees come to die. Just about every morning, I catch the boys bullying some poor bee that found it's way in. Seriously, I pick these things up everyday!

And last but not least, my little Punkins turns 8 this week, which is about 50 in cat years (but she doesn't look a day over 25). We will be celebrating with some tuna and marshmallows. Yes, she loves marshmallows...weird right? She's my little lady :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful start to the week!
