Weekend Trips | Dining Review | Liverpool, UK

Whenever I think of Liverpool I think of the Beatles and water. That is my American brain for ya! We planned a short weekend trip to go check out some Welsh castles and chose Liverpool as our overnight stopping point. With only a few hours to spend in Liverpool, we tried to experience as much of the city as we could. Unfortunately, our tired bodies could not make it to venture out for the music scene after dinner. So we settled for a walk around the docks.

But let's back up to dinner...

Across the street from our hotel was a restaurant called Restaurant Bar and Grill. We stopped in due to the proximity to our hotel and we were pleasantly surprised and possibly underdressed! But since it says "bar" in the name, they can't expect to much from us haha!! The atmosphere and energy were both great.

Typical table set up. The chairs were so comfy.
The menu from the Restaurant was varied but we both ended up choosing seafood mains with a seafood starter....I mean how could we not being right there on the coast!

Scallop starter
Haddock and Leek Risotto with poached egg on top, yum!
The dinner was delicious and we even ordered dessert. This restaurant was a little more expensive then normal for us. For a bottle of wine, one starter, two mains, dessert and gratuity included, our bill came to about £80. We always seem to find a pricey restaurant when we don't have a plan, but we were happy overall with Restaurant Bar and Grill. Such a great restaurant for a nice night out.

After all the yummy deliciousness, it was time for a walk.....

So 15ish hours in Liverpool (including sleep) gave us a little taste of the city and I would love to go back and explore more. The next morning, were able to see more of the sights in the town and it looked like a lot of fun! It was a perfect first experience on the Irish Sea. We hope we will get a chance to return one day!
